The short answer
This site sets analytics cookies, and only with your consent. Until you press Accept on the banner, nothing is set. If you accept, a small set of analytics cookies measures which pages are read; they expire after about two years. If you decline, the only thing stored is your choice itself — one mxc-consent key in local storage. No advertising pixels, no session recording, no social widgets, in either case.
That is also why you have not been shown a consent banner. There is nothing to consent to, and a banner that asks permission for nothing is theatre.
The rest of this page explains what that means, how to check it for yourself rather than taking our word for it, and the one external request the site does still make.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. They are usually grouped into four categories:
- Strictly necessary — keeping you logged in, holding a shopping basket, remembering a consent choice. Usually exempt from consent because the site cannot function without them.
- Preferences — remembering a language, a theme, or a dismissed notice.
- Analytics — counting visitors and measuring which pages are read. Requires consent in most jurisdictions.
- Marketing — following a visitor across sites to target advertising. Requires consent, and is the category most people mean when they object to cookies.
This site uses none of the four.
What this site uses
| Category | In use here |
|---|---|
| Strictly necessary cookies | None. The site is static; there is no login, basket or session to maintain. |
| Preference cookies | None. The English and Indonesian versions are separate pages, so no language choice needs storing. |
| Analytics cookies | A web analytics service — set only after consent, expiring after about two years. Used to count page reads and, once advertising runs, to measure which campaigns lead to an enquiry. |
| Marketing cookies | None. No advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, no social tracking. |
| Local storage / session storage | Not used. |
| Third-party JavaScript | None. The only scripts on this site are written by us and served from this domain. |
How to verify it yourself
You do not have to trust a policy page. In any desktop browser, press F12 to open developer tools and look under Application (Chrome or Edge) or Storage (Firefox). Check Cookies, Local Storage and Session Storage for this domain. Before you make a choice on the banner, all three are empty. If you declined, Local Storage holds one mxc-consent key and nothing else. If you accepted, Cookies holds the analytics cookies described above.
Under the Network tab you can also see every request the page makes. You will find this domain, Google Fonts as described below, and — only after consent — the analytics provider’s domains. Nothing else.
The one third-party request
This site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google receives your IP address and user-agent as part of that request.
To be precise about it: Google Fonts does not set a cookie. It is not a tracking mechanism in the cookie sense. But it is still a request that leaves your browser to a third party, and some data protection authorities in Europe have treated the IP transmission itself as personal data processing. We would rather name it here than let you discover it in a network log.
If you would prefer this not to happen, we can self-host the font files so no third-party request is made at all. Tell us at privacy@minexcoal.com and we will treat it as a request worth acting on.
Server logs are not cookies
Like every website, this one is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs: IP address, timestamp, the page requested, the referring page and the user-agent string. That happens at the network level, not on your device, and no cookie is involved.
What those logs contain, how long they are kept and who the hosting provider is are covered in our Privacy Policy and Data Protection & Compliance pages.
Embedded content
A common way cookies arrive on a site without the owner noticing is embedded third-party content — a YouTube player, an embedded map, a social feed, a chat widget, a font or icon library. Each of those usually sets cookies of its own.
This site embeds none of them. The cross-section figure on the home page and the schematics in the platform section are drawn by us as inline SVG, not loaded from a third party. Photographs are served from this domain.
What would change this page
If we add anything that stores data on your device, this page is updated before that thing goes live, not afterwards. That promise has been used once: web analytics was added on 23 August 2026, the consent banner arrived with it, and this page was rewritten the same day. The remaining candidates:
- A form backend, if the enquiry form moves from email to a hosted form service. Some of those set a strictly necessary cookie for spam protection.
- Advertising measurement, if we run paid campaigns and need conversion tracking. This is the category most likely to require consent, and we will treat it that way.
We will not add marketing or profiling cookies without a consent mechanism that genuinely lets you decline.
Controlling cookies anyway
If you would rather not be counted, decline on the banner — the site works identically either way. Your browser adds a second layer of control regardless. Every major browser lets you view and delete stored cookies, block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or clear everything when you close it. Look under Settings, then Privacy and security.
Blocking cookies entirely will not affect this site. You can also change your earlier choice here: the button below clears it and asks again.
Legal basis
Storing or accessing information on a visitor's device is regulated separately from ordinary data processing. The frameworks that apply to this site are:
- Indonesia — Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection.
- European Union and United Kingdom — the ePrivacy Directive as implemented locally, together with the GDPR, for visitors in those territories.
Because this site places nothing on your device, the consent requirement under those rules is not engaged. Our lawful basis for processing the limited data in server logs is legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
Governing language
This page is published in Indonesian and English. Both versions are intended to carry the same meaning.
Where the two versions differ, the Indonesian version governs and is the binding text. The Indonesian version is at id/cookies.html; this English version is provided as a translation.
This follows Law No. 24 of 2009 on the Flag, Language, Emblem and Anthem, which requires agreements involving an Indonesian party to be made in Indonesian.
